About Dr. Michelle McOsker
Michelle began her career as a speech-language pathologist in 2017 and is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and earned her Doctorate of Education in 2022. Following her doctoral studies, Michelle spent two years teaching as a university professor, combining her passion for communication sciences with a commitment to educating future professionals.
Michelle's experience spans a wide range of educational and healthcare settings, including elementary and high schools, Missouri state schools, hospitals, community-based programs, and private practice. This diverse background allows her to provide individualized, evidence-based care tailored to each child's unique strengths and needs.
Her therapeutic approach is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming practices, self-advocacy skill development, and meaningful, functional communication. Michelle believes that successful therapy is built on collaboration and partnership. She works closely with children and their families to create goals that reflect their values, priorities, and everyday communication needs.
